Phew is an island off the coast of Glasgow; a refuge inhabited by contemporary art asylum seeker Oliver Braid.

Following expatriation from the mainland Oliver chartered the foundations for this flipside settlement, with the goal of providing commune, sanctuary and safe passage for fellow pioneers.

The inimitable culture of Phew is expressed within a variety of local events throughout the season and its missionary message through off-site educational excursions.

In the hallowed words of St. Quentin of Crisp, ‘…pack tonight, set out tomorrow like the Portuguese explorers of old for the land of the blessed. We are waiting for you.’

Phew is accessible year-round. To speak with Oliver about your personal journey to Phew please contact: [email protected]
